I live directly above the premises and have owned Flat since September 2001. I have had to visit South Coast Roast on various occasions late at night in the past to question why the music was so loud and why people were still drinking at nearly 11pm. The ownership has changed a couple of times at least and on one evening I spoke to the then owner who was quite abusive in his language when I asked for the music to be turned down. The building is old and the noise travels through the floors. Sound insulation is non existent! Another problem is that often people spilled out on to the street, standing around drinking and blocking the pavement. I see this as a continuing problem if the licence is granted. It is a small coffee shop currently opening 8-5’ish (granted change of use from an insurance company office when I bought the flat) and this open all hours serving alcohol when there is one adjacent licensed premises and one opposite is overkill in my book. I am firmly against this being granted. Music will accompany the serving of alcohol and together this is a mix that brings lots of noise and late night disturbances. Yours faithfully Wanda Williams
