Making residential places safer is vital. Many elder people live in these places and people drive very fast down roads such as Queen Anne's drive and the road by the Oakley shopping centre, where a lot of people go and have had near misses because of reckless drivers speeding up to 85mph. It is also dangerous for pets - 3 known cats have been hit in the last 2 years of which 2 have died with horrific injuries and one has survived though required amputation. Lowering the speed limit around residential areas to 20mph would not only protect our elders and our children but also our cats and wildlife.
