Announcements were made in July 2022 by the DfE for mainstream school funding, central school services and the high needs block.

Based on the same number of pupils as for 2022-23, BCP funding in 2023-24 is changing compared with the current year as follows: 

a)schools NFF total is increasing by £3.7 million (1.5%);

b) funding rate for the central school services block for on-going council functions has reduced by 1.3%; and

c) high needs block allocations provide an increase of £3.0 million (5.6%).

Minutes:

The Assistant Chief Finance Officer presented a report, a copy of which had been circulated to each Member and a copy of which appears as Appendix 'B' to these Minutes in the Minute Book.

Announcements were made in July 2022 by the DfE for mainstream school funding, central school services and the high needs block.

The Forum was advised that BCP Council would be submitting a bid in December, to support the work going forward and that it was one of the first five Local Authorities to go through this. 

A further Agenda item would be brought back to this Forum, at the January 2023 meeting, as the bid would have been submitted and the outcome may be known by then. 

RESOLVED that the Forum noted the contents of the report.
