Election of Leader of the Council The proper officer has received notice of the resignation of the Leader of the Council on 13 February 2023. Councillors are asked to elect a Leader of the Council in accordance with the Constitution. Minutes: Nominations were received for the new Leader of the Council as follows: Cllr Broadhead (nominated by Cllr Filer, seconded by Cllr Kelly.) A number of Councillors spoke in support of Cllr Broadhead, who then outlined why he should be elected as Leader of the Council. No other nominations were received. In the absence of any other nominations Councillor Broadhead was confirmed as Leader of the Council unopposed. RESOLVED that Councillor Philip Broadhead be elected Leader of the Council in accordance with the Constitution. |
