RESOLVED that Planning Permission be REFUSED, contrary to the recommendations set out in the Officer report. The reasons for refusal were as follows:
Contrary to Planning Policy:
· Core Strategy - CS22 – In that the development’s scale, appearance and density is not in-keeping with the surrounding area; and would cause harm to local amenity.
· Core Strategy CSS41 – In that the development would not respect the site and its surroundings, nor contribute positively to the appearance of the area and be detrimental to the amenity of local residents.
· 6.10 DWLP – In that the development would not respect the character of the area particularly regarding the scale and massing of development and living conditions of neighbouring residents.
· 8.22 DWLP – Loss of existing public car parking spaces and failure to replace them.
